5.10.98 Somehow delicate memories fade the slowest from our minds... the little moments of softness and love are cherished so much more than the vivid celebrations of life - the big events and affairs which speak loudly for a day, a week, a month, and then disappear from the psyche altogether. The first touching of hands in the awkward silence when a couple meets for the very first time... the first time their lips meet in a tiny kiss, as faint as the brush of butterfly wings. the different embraces that they share - joyous, playful, warm, loving, healing, endless. The distantly blissful look of love as they gaze adoringly into each others eyes, and whisper just loud enough to be heard - "I do." These small moments, unaccompanied by pomp, circumstance, or fireworks, that mean so much - these are what stay in the memory, what belongs in our minds as the years wear on. |
