29.11.98 Pre-church meanderings Perhaps all God wanted was to create something beautiful... a system of life unlike anything seen before, with an emphasis on good vs. bad (surely he would have expected that, given the fact that Adam and Eve were presented with a choice between naiveté and knowledge). What is the motivation behind our existance? Why do all the people of the earth split into different groups, different paths in life which all lead towards death? If we are to be united in God's love as his children, why are we all so vehemently individual? Why do we have certain abilities, talents and gifts? Why is heaven the ultimate goal for some? Why am i not seeing a purpose? Maybe it's all a challenging game for God. But if he's so almighty and powerful... couldn't he put an end to it whenever he wanted? |
