Wow... the 'new' Blogger looks great. Big thumbs up.

Life: phlebotomy class is going great! I did my first 'stick' today. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be to insert a needle into a vein, but I am still having trouble with feeling out the vein. In a lot of cases you can't even see the medial cubital vein (the one in the middle of your arm, located just under the crook of your elbow) so you have to by feel, and with gloves on, it's weird. I managed to draw two tubes of blood, though, and my 'victim' says it didn't hurt (you know, except for the initial puncture, which hurts because the skin has nerve endings). One down, four to go, though I hope to get a lot more in before graduation (you have to do at least five successful draws in class). Practice makes perfect... or if not perfect, at least "satisfactorily skilled".

Other stuff: I'm trying this, the Couch Potato to 5K running plan. I kind of fell out of regular running and I have to build back up, so that sounded like a good idea. It is, unless you go out at 2pm on an 81 degree day. Don't do that, kids. You end up feeling like a little lightheaded. Drink lots of water!

I need to make this little place look summery.
