I like pie. Lots of pie.

Okay, I still haven't figured out how to use comments on this thing. And while I'm typing, right now, I can't see a damn thing I'm writing. For some reason the text is white on a white background in this entry field. Weird. And I know I haven't been writing here. I'm almost thinking of shutting this thing down and doing journally type updates exclusively in Livejournal; the only disadvantage with that is that I write a lot of friends-only stuff (you know, if I don't want family members to see how completely nuts I am, etc.) and I can't expect everyone who reads this to have an LJ so they can see my friends-only stuff!

Anyway...

So, for the past two months I've been taking a course in phlebotomy. (Phlebotomy = "incision into a vein", but really refers to the fine art of sticking needles in people, for blood specimens, blood donation, plasma donation, etc. It's not anything as complicated as nursing, but I have learned quite a lot in the past few weeks. I took my final exam on Wednesday and passed with a score of 98%. Next week I have a three day externship at the Veteran's hospital here in town. I hope that this bit of education will open at least one or two doors and get me the hell out of the fast food biz. I'm also considering going further on and doing a diploma or degree in medical technology. Which is kind of weird to me, because I was never a big science/biology sort of person in high school at all. It was all English, and English lit, and history, and writing bad poetry. But medical stuff has become quite fascinating to me, at least the testing/diagnosing sort of stuff.

So, that's what I've been doing. My apologies for not commenting much in the blogs I read; I'm just kind of clueless and noncommenty lately. No, I don't know what's wrong with me either.
